Public Access to the Lake

The Rushford Lake recreation district has designated
various spots on the lakeshore for the use to the general public.

Public Boat Launching:

Boats may be launced in Area C new Balcom Beach. A
fee is charged on week-ends for personal watercraft an boats over
25 horsepower. Fishing boats under 25 horsepower are free.

Picnic Area

The Rushford Lake Recreation District has provided
public grounds in Area A on the north side of the Dam. These grounds
near the dam and adjoining area.

Bathing Area

The beach on the south end of the lake in Area I near
the Rush Creek Bridge (off county road 49) is designated as a public
bathing area. In the interest of public safety, the public is requested
not to launch boats in this area. Extreme caution is urged in boating
and skiing near bathing areas. This area is supervised by Allegany
County including summer lifeguard protection.
